Mikey's Pick--Cage The Elephant

Cage The Elephant released their second album yesterday.  This album is full of good old fashion rock n' roll.  Throughout the album, Matt Shultz yelps and harmonizes with his distinct high pitched voice backed by noisy guitars reminiscent of Curt Cobain (Nirvana), Francis Black,(Pixies) and Beck.  I caught them last night preforming on Letterman; they rocked.  While the band believes their music sucks, and that they are only part of the mainstream music industry they loath.  I, and the rest of their fans disagree.  Rock n' Roll is an elephant that can not be caged.  This is what mainstream rock needs, Kings of Leon, please step aside.

Here are a few tracks off the new album:

  2. Yeah excellent for sure. Thank You Happy Birthday is definitely not their first great album. Their last album is just as kickin'. Thanks for the post!
