Black Sands is the latest album from Bonobo. It is pretty close to perfect. This was released in 2010 but being one of my favorite albums of the year it is still in my rotation. From the first track, Bonobo prepares the listener for take off. From there wave upon wave of horned and stringed instruments burst in and out carried by the underlying groovy bass guitar. Throughout the album Andreya Triana's voice subtly breaks in and out. It is beautiful. Everything on this album is powerful and unique yet because of how well it is crafted together it is subtle and relaxing at the same time. The track "Kong" does it for me. This album has the perfect balance every artist strives for. Dig this guy.
