Take a listen to one of my all time favorite musicians, Daniel Johnston. His music is as interesting as fantastic. His life story is just as fascinating, an award winning biographical film was even made. Dozens including Beck, TV On The Radio, Bright Eyes, The Flaming Lips, and many more have covered his songs, yet he still remains unknown to many. I was recently in Austin Texas, his home town, where he has almost god-like stardom. Giant murals of him and his album covers can be seen in and around the city. You can't go a day without seeing someone pass by wearing a "Hi how are you?" t-shirt. I too bought one. Check some of these tracks out, but first watch this trailer to the documentary about him:
