Today, The White Stripes ended their career as a duo rock n' roll band. This is no surprise to me since they have both been doing extremely well solo, but saddening all the same. I love Jack White and everything he does but his work with The White Stripes was magnificent. The only real bummer about this whole thing is that I never was able to see them live! The band gave this warming statement:
"The White Stripes do not belong to Meg and Jack anymore. The White Stripes belong to you now and you can do with it whatever you want..." Good news! Jack then stated that The White Stripes will continue to release previously unreleased material. In honor of Meg and Jack enjoy these tracks from a fantastic band.

What solo work has Meg White been working on? I know about Jack white doing Rome and being busy as a label head but I've heard nothing of Meg
ReplyDeletewell, she hasn't done as much as jack. Jack has done a lot of producing and recording with other bands. Meg has done some modeling and some drum beats for a few people, most notably,Ray LaMontagne. Who knows what she will do now.
ReplyDeleteI guess when i used the word "solo" it was a bit misleading. She hasn't had a solo music career that i am aware of.
ReplyDeletejack white just recently said he would NEVER be in another band. he said three was enough....there goes jack white talking about three's again.
